About East Africa Tourism Platform
The East Africa Tourism Platform is the private sector body for tourism in East Africa, working towards promoting the interest and participation of the private sector in the East African Community integration process.
The East Africa Tourism Platform (EATP) was set up in July 2011 funded by TradeMark East Africa, to facilitate active and focused engagement of the private sector in the EAC Regional Integration process. The platform became operational on 2nd April 2012. Today, EATP works closely with national ministries responsible for Tourism, Wildlife, Trade and Transport portfolios, the EAC Secretariat, East African Business Council and Private Sector Organizations in all EAC Partner states.
EATP became the first regional tourism apex body put into place that is able to lobby at the EAC level and also at the level of national governments; acting as the common platform for facilitation of private sector and public sector discussions and addressing tourism development and promotion issues at a regional level..
